Summary: The BAU teams goes to LA to help the team from NUMB3RS to solve a case involving murder and kidnappings. When they return to the only place they feel safe only to find that safety shaken.

Chapter7

As Spencer hung up the phone, he turned to put it back on the night stand and realized that Tori was watching him.

“Who was that?”

“Ian, he says he will be in town tonight and that you can both recertify on Monday. I told him about dinner tomorrow night and he says that he will be here for that. He also said that if you wanted to get together this weekend to call him."

“Oh good, I’m glad. He didn't have to come here and do this.”

“Why is he coming here?”

"To help me. I get really nervous when I’m up for certification. Kinda silly huh? I can take millisecond shots, which can kill or save a hostage by millimeters, but get nervous, proving I can shoot in a room full of agents.”

“I can see that, but why Ian?”

“Oh, you want to know why him instead of you?”

Spencer nodded in agreement.

“One word pride. Going against Ian, I have to shoot my best because it means I’m proving my top sniper ranking. Plus, they like it when we can do this together so they only have to shut down the range for us once. Of course, if you have the time and you want to I would like to have you there to watch too. You can never have too much support. Plus you’re not very good dear.”

“Really?”

“Of course. It should only take the morning unless they get a few more to certify for snipers. Speaking of which, I should call the range and let them know. That way they can start setup today. Can you hand me my phone back?”

“Sure, I gotta shower, so I’ll call JJ and Will after you get done.”

“Are you sure? I can wait and call the range later.”

“No, I’ll wait go ahead.”

As Spencer got out of bed, he kissed Tori and headed to the shower. Tori opened her phone and scrolled through the numbers, until she found the number for the firing range. As soon as she found it she dialed and waited for someone to answer.

“Quantico qualifying range, Agent John Malcolm speaking, how may I help you?”

“Hey John, it’s Tori. How is everything going?”

“Great Tori. What’s up?”

“It is that fun time of year again for Ian and I. We need to recertify. You know how we always wait til the morning we want to do that and then call?”

“Yes.”

“Then you complain that you want more prep time?”

“Yeah.”

“Well how about Monday? Would that be enough notice for you?”

“Wow, that much notice from you too is amazing. How did I earn this awesome gift?”

“Well, I had to call Ian and ask a favor, so while I had him on the phone I asked if he would come recertify with me. He told me he didn’t think he could. Well, he called this morning and he will be here tonight, so we can do it Monday morning. Since I found out this morning, I thought my friend John would like this information this morning too, so I called.”

“That is great, I’m glad for the extra notice.”

“I have a favor to ask you, which happens to deal with the same favor I called Ian for. I am setting up the refresher week for top brass, right?”

“You might have said something about it.”

“Well, Ian is going to run firearm certification for the week. I’m going to need the range for the week. I hope that won’t cause too many headaches for you.”

“With two weeks notice it shouldn’t be a problem. I many need to have access to a couple of lanes for a day or two, but you should be able to have the rest.”

“Sounds like a plan. Ian and I’ll see you on Monday then. We can talk more about the refresher week, then Ian will be with me.”

“Ok, I’ll see you then.”
