I am loving the Morgan and Garcia scenes tonight

[identity profile] epicet.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Seriously seriously seriously SO GOOD.

Like, the way he walked while holding his dead mother? Is how Scottie stands/walks at the end of Vertigo up on the belltower.

[identity profile] ladymalchav.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
With his arms on his knees like a little kid.

She's been dead too long - looks like years - she's a skeleton!

[identity profile] sodoesrachael.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Garcia was doing her play again, and the whole team was there watching. :D

Or did you mean the ending of the case?

[identity profile] cupcakery.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
What about the ending?

[identity profile] epicet.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Like with the unsub?

His mother's been dead; her death was probably the stressor. That is a throwback to Psycho. He's been recreating women in her image, which is a reference to Vertigo.

Criminal Minds you never cease to find new ways to freak me out. Creepy guy with creepy imaginary dead mama.

Is it just me or can Morgan get a bit cloying at times? And where is Kevin these days?

[identity profile] devon-carrots.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
oooh okay thanks

[identity profile] epicet.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
On probation/in jail.

[identity profile] epicet.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Nicholas Brenden, I mean.

[identity profile] ladymalchav.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
He was abducting girls and trying to play out the scenario his dead mother had made him perform with her. That's why they all looked like her. He took the first girl's lips to put oh his mothers corpse (probably because hers had rotted off by then). When the second girl ran into the room and screamed? She had found the mother's corpse.

By the time the cops came for him, he was so delusional he imagined they were walking down the red carpet.

The entire show had callbacks to old films: Psycho, Vertigo, and at the end (I think) What Happened to Baby Jane.

This one was extremely well done.

Annnnnndddddd, once again the writers go from a happy/family scene to a omg-nightmares in less than .2 seconds.

'If you go down to the woods today, you're in for a big surprise!!!!'

[identity profile] ladymalchav.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
No, I was wrong. It's Sunset Boulevard, but What Happened to Baby Jane.

This is why I usually Google before I hit Post.

[identity profile] ladymalchav.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
That made me laugh way more than it should sanely should have.

[identity profile] runriggers.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
That's the first thought that popped into my head! :))

[identity profile] ladymalchav.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Not necessarily.

Her disability permit would have expired if it'd been more than a year or so.

[identity profile] gen-is-gone.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
I really liked this cold open. It reminds me of 'True Night'. And the sibling rivalry between Reid and Garcia. "Burn that from my memory." "You asked."

[identity profile] cloudzrshibby.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
That episode was terrifying and amazing.

[identity profile] diemme.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
I was "O_O where's he been hacking into" for a moment.

[identity profile] parisntripfan.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
True, but how many viewers are going to know that? Not many outside the Washington DC area.

[identity profile] ladymalchav.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Everything I Need To Know I Learned From Criminal Minds?

[identity profile] epicet.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha, no, Brendon punched someone in the face for calling him Xander* or something.

*I totally made this up. He did assault some cops though.
