Strauss' primary motivation has been her own advancement in the Bureau and to protect the image of the BAU. And she's always said she sees Hotch's team as "reckless". So why on earth would Strauss of all people put an agent fresh out of the academy on an elite team...but an agent who has already managed to be held at knifepoint by an UnSub. Strauss just wouldn't do that imo. Plus imagine the politics...imagine the reaction of older, more experienced, qualified agents who HAVEN'T been able to get BAU assignments. She said back in the day she had issues with people objecting to Emily's appointment to the BAU and Emily was an experienced agent at the time. Imagine the firestorm Seaver's appointment would bring.
LOL sorry for the super long comment. I'm just saying...no way Erin Strauss is going to break the rules (the BAU is NOT for training) and assign a newbie to a team she already has issues with and will be under scrunity (since they lost someone in the field). She's way too into covering her own behind to pull that kind of cowboy move.
