Interview with Kirsten Vangsness in the Advocate

There's a great interview with Kirsten Vangsness in the online version of The Advocate. She talks about her sense of style, what the cast of Criminal Minds is like to work with, how she got Helen Mirren to sign a petition to bring JJ and Emily back to Criminal Minds ("I got the Queen's cell phone number!"), and how flirting with Shemar Moore convinced her that she's gay. (Basically, when she first started filming Criminal Minds, she wasn't totally sure of her sexual orientation, but when she filmed a scene in which Garcia was flirting with Morgan, she realized that she wasn't reacting to him the way a straight woman would.)

How did I not know that she was gay? I really need to start reading more interviews.

How amazing is this woman? I love that she's all "fuck you, we're only waiting so long" to the idiots who won't legalize gay marriage. I love that she is so comfortable being who she is, just all of it: her sexuality, her size, her quirkiness, her bluntness, just everything. She is who she is, and if people can't deal that is their problem. I wish I had her courage.

I agree 100%. She is absolutely awesome.
