Changes in Season 5

Is the series becoming more bloody and graphic this season? I do not remember this level of violence or depictions of blood before. Even though there had been incredibly sadistic killers in the past, the series never directly featured it or this often throughout the season.

( Next Week's episode already bothers me. )
