I love your Garcia icon! And screencaps are always good. By the way, have you thought of joining picturethecrime? It's for icons, screencaps, etc. of CM. *cough* Not that I'm shamelessly pimping this or so.

Anyway, sometimes you get wonky screencaps for no apparent reason. Have you tried another method taking caps? Like when you're using PowerDVD and the pictures come out blurry, try another media player with screencap function and see if they're any better. I haven't actually tried that yet, but I thought it might work. (On the other hand, if the problem is with the original avi file, that probably won't work. Sorry.)

For 1x20 I used a different program (PowerDVD instead of WinDVD). The pictures are better, but without a frame-reverse I get a lot of pics I don't want and don't get some I do. I've tried more programs than I care to count and nothing works consistently well, unfortunately.

I think the problem with this batch (1x16) is that to capture using WinDVD I have to convert the .avi to a DVD. That worked fine for 1x17, but maybe this .avi was bad.

And I'm sure that's more than you wanted to know!

Nah, it's okay. I'm relatively new to all of this, so it's always good to hear that I'm not the only one whose screencapping isn't going so well. It's nice to share some ideas of how to get rid of these small things that make everything look so bad in the end.

I'm mostly using my CD burning program (came with a player), and I've capped 1x19 - the only problem is that most of the caps were out of focus, so I fine-tuned a couple of options and made more caps - I thought I could always go through it later and then decide which ones are best. Only now I have close to 3000 caps, and my eyes are about to dry out... *g*

Maybe I need to mess around with the settings on my cap programs. Everything comes out so dark. I'd like to fix that.

I'm pretty sure you can fix that in the settings. I know for a fact that WMP allows you to change brightness and such settings, and if it's possible there, it should be possible with other players. I've got no idea how though.

God, there is this awful person annoying me on ICQ. Annoying too because I don't know who the heck it is.
