I think it's a plus. If Gideon hadn't left, season 3 would be nowhere near as awesome as it turned out to be - it would've been focused on Gideon, so we might not have got "Penelope", or JJ's romance, things like that.

good point. i think penelope was awesome. and maybe we wouldn't have had 'true night' either, which is another of my favs.
