Okay, i know virtually no one will believe me but I saw the end (with Hotch stepping down and putting Morgan in charge) the moment Hotch told Morgan to write up the preliminary profile. ...It was just such a grooming-for-the-job move.

Now I LOVE Hotch as team leader but, honestly, if we need to feed the bureaucratic beast that is Strauss by having Morgan be in charge to keep Hotch on the team that's fine by me. ...Something tells me that, honestly, the change in position will be in title/appearance/paperwork only and just be temporary (until Foyet is no longer an issue) anyway so...yeah...

And, haha, talk about twisted Breast Cancer Awareness PSA: Remember ladies, you don't treat your breast cancer (and have a sexually sadistic hubby) you could become a crazed UNSUB so don't forget to do those breast exams! <-- Please, please, note this is a sarcastic comment not to be taken seriously.

The case was awesome, so happy for the happy ending!

The story itself I enjoyed...creepy as it was. I couldn't help but feel sympathetic toward the woman with cancer. But I HATED the ending. Morgan in charge? Yeah...not gonna work. He's far too hotheaded and emotional for the job. I think Rossi would have made much more sense....even Emily would have been a better choice IMO. But I'll deal with it..

More detailed thoughts later, but for now all I can say is that this was classic CM. Disturbing, scary, well written. I really felt for everyone involved. Well, everyone but the man who did the killing and raping. I even felt a little sorry for the wife. She wasn't entirely an innocent victim, but she wasn't really evil either. Just a sick dying woman who wanted a child so much she was willing do anything to get it.


As for the Hotch story line - I am going to have to wait and see. I love that they are dealing with what happened. That Hotch did not just bounce back with no problems whatsoever. He is after all, only human. It is going to be interesting to see how things work out with Morgan in charge. I am not sure he is the best one, but I guess Rossi wouldn't want the job. And I tend to think that Prentiess wouldn't either. To much politics.

Anyone get the feeling that is less a literal leadership and more of a 'in theory' rather than 'in practice'? Morgan will be the leader on paper, and likely will lead in the field as he already has done, but Hotch will still be the one looked to as the unofficial leader. It makes me feel a little bad for Morgan, but he'll probably be doing the same, and running all his decisions and whatnot by Hotch.

I'll be intrigued by this new dynamic. Hotch will have to, ah, relax a little bit and get back into more field work, while Morgan's going to calm down some more and start thinking things through. They'll help each other with that and I'm actually digging the idea. I'm glad it's temporary, but it'll be interesting to watch, and especially interesting to see how the others will react.

I really don't know how to feel about this. Actually, quit upset, because I saw me reflected in Hotch. I was in charge of 45 student employees until I got a stalker, that emotionally damaged me, I too was demoted. Ugh. Bringing back horrible horrible memories at this point. Not pretty. Other than emotional issues, Hotch smiling at Morgan. Adorable. And sorry Shemar's acting at the very end. Yeah not great. At least Hotch was hot.
