let's talk fantasy crossovers

here are some questions for us to answer so we can have some fun today. feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you want. pretend that you could write the ep.

1. which other crime-fighting team would you most love for CM to crossover with on an actual episode? it can be a show from any network and from any season of either show, even if the other one has been discontinued.

2. why this other team? is it one of your favorites? do you think the two groups would clash/work great together?

3. where would it take place between the two teams' headquarters?

4. what kind of crime would it be? be as detailed as you like.

5. who from the teams would you have work together?

I would actually like a CM/Dexter crossover. I've been wondering if they profiled him what exactly they would figured out about him.

Great questions, I'll have a think and answer in a bit!

1. It would be the NCIS team from when Jenny Shepard was boss. i'd have the CM team from the most recent season.

2. NCIS is my other fave team. i love Abby and the team dynamics in general.

3. it would be at NCIS headquarters so as to include Ducky and Abby. they have a forensics lab and morgue. plus, the two teams are located close together. plus, BAU has a jet.

4. it would have to be a crime involving the Navy to get the NCIS team involved. it would also have to be a serial crime to get the BAU involved. i'd go with serial rapist so at least the victims would be alive and the teams could interview them. maybe it would be male rapes. we hardly ever see that.

5. Garcia and McGee would tag team the research and comp stuff in Abby's lab while Abby ran forensic tests. Rossi and Reid would work with Ducky on basic profiling. JJ would go around interviewing with Ziva. Prentiss and Morgan would work with DiNozzo also interviewing and running down leads. Gibbs and Hotch would lead.

6. Ducky and Reid would chat it up nonstop. Rossi would be irritated with both. Garcia and Abby would become really great friends as both are eccentric. McGee would feel overwhelmed by the women but would admire Garcia for her skill and they'd have lots in common. Morgan would want to kill DiNozzo for the most part, as would Prentiss. JJ and Ziva would be cool with each other. DiNozzo would hit on Prentiss a lot. Gibbs would get irritated with Reid and head-slap him several times. Hotch would stare down DiNozzo and be freaked out by Abby's enthusiasm. he'd kiss her cheek before it ended. Hotch would get into it with Jenny at some point. all the girls from both teams would do a lady's night later.

7. they'd find their bad guy and for once NCIS would get credit. Gibbs would make sure to share credit with BAU.

8. I'd have someone awesome guest star. maybe Tori Amos or someone. she'd be a witness not a victim. oooh, maybe Billy Corgan would play perp.

that's a good one. it's fascinating when the protagonist is a bad guy.

Yes, agreed! That has crossed my mind so many times.

I have a feeling, even with Dexter being good at what he does, they would catch him. I think the people around him are too close and don't really see any signs, not that he really gives any, but I think fresh eyes looking at him would be interesting to watch.

Personally, I hate crossovers.

I´ve seen a few of those and they always make me irritated. It just feels so wrong.

But hey, that´s just little old me! lol!

I started writing an NCIS/CM crossover. But I only have a couple of chapters.

hmm. i've never seen Dexter, but i think there would be lots of takers for this crossover. thanks for playing.

that's cool. i'd read it. it would be interesting if it happened on the shows. they are on the same network and everything. the CM people are very serious all the time and it's a very serious show with only Garcia and sometimes Morgan to lighten the mood. NCIS, on the other hand, is a less serious show with comedic elements in every ep. it would be fun to watch the serious guys from BAU interact with the jokesters of NICS. it would be kind of like when Ally McBeal crossed over with the Practice.

I could imagining this happening as well. I always thought that two of my favorite shows would make a great crossover together especially from your idea of it.

i could also see one with "The Closer" and maybe "Bones". i'm not familiar enough with those characters, though. i could definitely see a House crossover where one of the team is sick and Hotch has it out with House in a big way. Hotch would eventually come to blows.

1. NCIS, when Jenny was still around if just for the hilarity of watching her and Strauss going at it. Battle of the hard-asses.

2. Before Criminal Minds, NCIS was the only other show I watched regularly because the characters were just so askance from the typical crime drama--also the teams share a similar family dynamic with Gibbs and Jenny being "mom and dad" and the rest of the team falling under the category of "the rambunctious kids." As far as interaction, I can see there being a lot of unintentional profiling and good natured teasing going around. Hotch and Emily hate politics and do what they can in a case to subvert it, while in a lot of ways the NCIS team has a lot of their tactics dictated by it. Garcia and Abby would bond like long-lost sisters and Tony would enjoy hitting on JJ and Emily until he found out JJ was married and Emily would kick his ass as readily as Ziva. Emily and Ziva would bond over their childhoods spent abroad. Rossi and Gibbs over their (failed) marriages. Hotch would keep his distance at first, but with the opportunity to be badass with Gibbs, warm up rather quickly. The presence of 'two Garcias' would weird him out a bit. Morgan would dismiss Tony until they had a door kicking contest and find the other of equal prowess. McGee and Reid would geek the hell out together, especially after Reid realizes, moments after meeting him that 'Timothy McGee' anagrams to 'Thom E. Gemcity.'

3. The case would take place in Langley, Virginia.

4. The CIA director from Secrets and Lies isn't as dead as everyone thought, and he's out for a little revenge. Without Gideon there, he's focusing his rage on the military in general and funding what appear to be serial murders of military personal, some of which are navy, which his how the two teams meet. It's a cover for the original plan that went bust though, and he's really just trying to cash in again with terrorists.

5 & 6) Garcia and Abby (because they'd be attached at the hip anyway) Morgan and McGee and Tony and Reid (the grass is always greener on the other side) Emily and Gibbs (I imagine Gibbs as a slightly younger Rossi in a number of ways) and Hotch, Rossi and Jenny would be base of operations, because if ever there was a trifecta of bad-assery, it's that. (Whenever Jenny isn't dealing with Strauss, and Hotch's snark would be epic.)

7. With that much concentrated awesome, they'd catch the guy, of course!

8. A few of the CIA people from Secrets and Lies would be back, possibly as victims, and Gibb's old boss knows Rossi, and shows up when he hears the BAU is in his old neck of the woods.

9. What would the opening quote to the case be, and who, from either team would deliver it?

Gibbs: John LeCarr once said, "Love is whatever you can still betray ... Betrayal can only happen if you love."

that sounds awesome. i can just imagine Jenny v. Strauss, round 83. and then Tony and Reid would be hilarious together. Tony would be quoting the movies and Reid would be like, ...? maybe Tony would head slap Reid. i just thing someone would head slap Reid. or maybe i want to see him get angry just once.

i can also see Gibbs and Rossi being all serious and like, can't make it work. you neither, huhn?

and yes, Emily would do something horrible to Tony. i can just imagine. maybe Timmy would get a thing for Garcia. and Morgan would be like, oh no you don't.

ah. what i wouldn't give for this to occur.

Both have the same rhythim, they're both fast-paced and normally CM works with Missing People, so it fits.

3. where would it take place between the two teams' headquarters?
New York.

4. what kind of crime would it be? be as detailed as you like.
Serial kidnapping, probably of women, with all that routine of rape, or forced prostitution, and then killing.

5. who from the teams would you have work together?
Martin and Emily, Jack and Hotch, Danny and Morgan, Danny and Garcia fliritng on the phone, JJ and Sam talking about their babies, Viv and Hotch, Rossi and Jack...

6. what sort of interactions would you write?
Non-conflicting, no fight over power, just once I'd like to see a crossover where there's no tension and the teams just get along. And Jack wouldn't go psycho on anyone.

7. what would the outcome be?
I'd kill the last victim, but TPTB would probably let her live because they believe in happy endings.

8. who would guest-star as victim, witness, or perp?
Aaaah... I don't know...

On both, it would be a two hours special. But it wouldn't be two separated episode conected, it would be one case linked and taking place in both shows. It starts and ends with quotes and it has those "Da Vinci Code" cool effects (like in CM), but it has flshbacks (like WAT), mixing both styles.

2. Both teams are so different but they have fantastic characters. I think the Baltimore cops would be suspicious of the BAU, and in awe of their resources, but I think their street knowledge would be invaluable to the CM team.

5. I'd like to see Hotch and Daniels trying to out deathglower each other and I think Lester Freamon would be absolutely fascinated with Reid. Prentiss would be fending off McNulty but would probably bond with Kima.

6. I would love to see Spencer Reid interview Omar Little.

7. Successful capture of perpetrator.

8. No idea. I've always thought Nick Cave would make a great unsub. Or Patterson Joseph because he's just awesome.

i totally think anyone that would flirt with Garcia is cool in my book.

i almost forgot about Numbers. a team up between Reid and Charlie Epps would be completely epic! it would be a melding of the super brains.

I have been wishing for a NUMB3RS crossover for years now. The main reason is that they are both FBI, but more than that, I want to see Charlie work with Reid because they're both math geniuses. It would take place wherever NUMB3RS takes place, which I think is Los Angeles, just because I figure the CM team travels while the NUMB3RS team is more static. Crime would be a murder, or course, or more likely serial murders because that's what the CM team normally investigates. I would have Hotch work with Don and Reid work with Charlie; I'm not familiar enough with the rest of the NUMB3RS team (I actually don't watch NUMB3RS all that much!).

I'd also love for an NCIS crossover in order to get Garcia and Abby together. I think Garcia would also work with McGee. Gibbs would work with Hotch, and I'd put Reid with Ziva, Morgan with Tony, and I don't know what I'd do with poor JJ. It would have to be a serial case involving the Navy or Marines.

yes, completely. both would be great. i'm also not so familiar with the Numbers guys. i love Charlie and Don, and the black guy, whatever his name is. i also like Amida and Charlie's other geek friend who was on Ally McBeal. but i can't stand that one guy on the team who was Willie Joe Pickins in Where the Heart Is. he just rubs me the wrong way. and wouldn't it be great for the Eppses to have Reid and Hotch over for dinner and Reid and Charlie would get going and Daddy Epps and Hotch would be like, oh great!

I'd love to see a crossover with my fav ever cop duo Simone & Sipowitz from NYPD Blue.

I can see Sipowitz & Rossi butt heads totally whilt Hotch & Simone have a silent understanding of each other.

Sipowitz would not care for Reid at all.

I think the crime would have to involve children, Sipowitz and Hotch might gel over such a thing.

Maybe the unsub could be the Aunt of the little girl from Seven Seconds. She was so heartless.

Love both shows and I thought that CM and WAT would make a great crossover together. It would totally works! Wish that someone could write this....
