The fact of the matter is, there is no good or bad ... no real rules.

Sure there are :) There are rules of spelling, grammar and punctuation at the most basic, and rules for the craft of writing - POV, etc. The odd typo is going to happen (most of us are guilty of that) but you have to be a pretty accomplished writer to know when and how to break the rules (sparingly!) to good effect, rather than produce an unreadable pile of junk.
