The only thing that might make me watch next season is curiosity to see how JJ will leave, and at least Paget will be in most of the eps

I have mixed feelings about this new character. Even if she turns out to be good, the bitterness surrounding the circumstances for which she was brought in is always going to be a stigma for me. I do wish people would quit trying to compare the situation to Elle and Prentiss, because it's completely different. Lola left the show voluntarily and on good terms, and while I really missed Elle initially (still do sometimes), I wasn't bitter at all that she had been replaced. The change didn't reek of blatant sexism and "hey, when one female character gets boring (to TPTB anyway), let's just switch her out for a shinier, newer model!" I hesitate to use the term "lazy writing" since it gets bandied about in fandom so much, but in this case I think it applies.

Here's hoping AJ finds a show on a network that will treat her better (and after S6, Paget for that matter).

Great article. I'll stick around for AJ's two eps but then I'm done with the show. It just won't be the same. I'll spend my free time with other things. At least I have five seasons that I can rewatch any time.

i didn't see it as a sexism issue until i read this article; before, i thought it was about character popularity or something along these lines, but now i gotta agree with everyone else.

you know, i keep having these visions that they will replace Paget and AJ by Roselyn Sanchez, LOL. They brought her in on the fourth season of WITHOUT A TRACE and that, combined with bad writting, killed the show for me and most fans. The thing is, I keep waiting to hear an official announcement that SHE is coming in to ruin this show as well (btw, sorry if you're a fan, i just can't stand her).

Anyway, what i'm trying to say is, i think they'll replace the girls with some pretty-new-shinny-model girl with no talent. the writers will just care to make her look pretty, hook her up with Hotch and things will end in cacellation.

I'm glad you agree. I could have maybe seen it as character popularity too, if it were just one of them, but both, and then all the other poor network decisions? Seems to be a theme.

God, I hope not. I mean, part of me wouldn't be heartbroken over the show being canceled at the moment, like I would have before, but to introduce a vapid one dimensional character and ruin the writing would just kill me. In other words, I would rather it be canceled than see that happen.
