Rachel Confirms s7 Casting Spoilers

I'd like to take this opportunity to say that whether or not you loved/hated Ashley Seaver, Rachel Nichols as an actress is a human being who did not deserve to be sidelined liked this. She obviously loved her job and her co-workers, and is justifiably upset about this.

CBS pulled the same stunt with Rachel that they did with AJ and Paget last year. Please keep that in mind. CBS might have fixed one of the symptoms by bringing AJ and Paget back, but they have in no way solved the problem of treating their actresses as disposable.

If you can, please send Rachel some love on twitter.

How do you know she wasn't being told personally that she was fired? Nothing from her Twitter account states that she had to find out via twitter. And assuming that she found out via Twitter just because AJ and Paget did does not make it true that it was the same for Rachel.

As much as I too agree that CBS is somewhat patriarchal, you can't deny that Rachel being fired could be very well be due to financial reasons. Could they have kept her with the original cast? Yes. But Ashley Seaver was brought into the team to replace JJ and since now JJ and Emily is back,Seaver had to be cut.

Hotch's team has always consisted of eight members, from season 1 to somewhat season 6. When Gideon and Elle left, Rossi and Emily took their position. Making Rachel a regular would have cost them so they took her out.
