DVD issues

Has anyone else had a problem with their season 4 DVDs?

I just got them for Christmas, and the first disc is completely defective. As soon as I put it in the player, instead of showing the usual warnings and logos and going to the menu page, it heads right into Mayhem. If I click on the menu button during the ep it does pop up, but no matter what I click on from there, it won't play anything but Mayhem! Anyone else have this problem, or is it just my luck? I'm SO asking for a refund.

I think it might be yours. I just got mine for Christmas as well and I haven't had any trouble with it. Maybe it's the player your playing it in? I am using my PS2 to watch it.

I don't think it could be the player, since it plays everything else just fine. But thanks! Maybe I just got a bum copy. I just didn't want to ask for a refund of the whole set if this was a known problem. :)

My S4 DVD's are fine. But a long while back when I first got my BtVS Season one DVD I had that same problem and I had to go exchange it for a new set.

I got mine a few months ago and all the discs are fine. That's a bummer around Christmas :(

I got mine for Christmas as well, but mine are fine. I would exchange it for a new copy and hope that works.

While I haven't had that specific problem with mine, mine do act up. I bought all four seasons seperately. Season one played perfect. One disc on season 2 played funky but I figured, ehh whatever. But all of season 3 did that to me. It does not allow me to skip and rewind through any of the chapters, and sometimes the discs won't play for me at all. Occcasionally I get this weird sound when I try to play a disc. Season 4 played fine except for the third disc. I have to play them on my laptop if I want to watch them. I'm not sure if it's the encoding on my dvds that makes my player go crazy. *sigh*

Yikes, that sucks. All the other seasons have played fine for me, but these season 4 DVDs are terrible. :(
