Here are some more details (sort of) on the upcoming character bit on JJ, from this week's Ausiello. It's all under the cut.

Question: Criminal Minds boss Ed Bernero previously teased a big episode coming up that would shed light on the JJ character. What more can you tell us? —Annie
Ausiello: “It will be the revelation of an incident from her childhood,” Bernero tells me, “which, we think, will inform even deeper why she displays the compassion she does for the family members of the victims of tragedies.”

I have been looking forward to a good back story too but deep down I hope they won't come up with something cliched and predictable. On the surface I'm just happy she's getting something. I love the show to pieces but some characters have had FAR more exposure than the others, I'd love to see that compensated.

I think it might be about her sister, unless that's already been mentioned touched upon, if so I don't know what else it's going to be but it'll be interesting to find something else out about JJ, cause we know very little.
