[Spoiler Alert] to get a love interest

Former Dirty Sexy Money star Bellamy Young will guest in an upcoming episode of Criminal Minds as Beth, a museum curator who meets Hotch (Thomas Gibson) in the park while he’s training for triathalon.
The episode also guest stars Charles S. Dutton, playing a boxing trainer at a Philadelphia gym.
Before the start of the season, showrunner Erica Messer teased a new romance for one of the agents, but declined to give details. She had also hinted, however, that she wanted this season to see a new beginning for Hotch, whose ex-wife was killed a few season ago. “Hotch … has been going through the motions of raising a child as a single working parent and mourning the loss of a great love,” she told EW after the premiere. “And even though he and Haley were divorced, she was his first love, his only life and all that. We’d really like him to smile again and let go of that. It’s going to be new and exciting for all of us and the audience.”

I'd love for Hotch/Prentiss, but I'm completely fine with this since Hotch deserves to be happy after his divorce and Haley's death.

But she looks so adorable <3 and she was great on Dirty Sexy Money and Supernatural (the only two works I know her from).

Yeah, I know, that's not even relevant, I was just really hoping that the love interest rumors were for him.

First of all I also think Hotch deserves to be happy, but my shipper side, as I'm sure is happening with a lot of Hotch/team member shippers is a bit uncertain, because although I've never wanted couples among the team at the show, it was quite nice write and read romantic cannon fics between team members (Hotch/Rossi myself).
That begin said, I'm pretty open to this idea, as long as the writers developed it in a believable way, because I just couldn't imagine Hotch falling in love at first sight, and starting a relationship so quickly. I hope the writers remember he has a son to care and think about, and don't rush him into a relationship just because they want to see him smile more and let go of his grief.

I'm pretty sure, like 99.99%, that an inter-team romance will never, ever happen. That's why we have fanfiction.

This sounds good. I'm totally Hotch/Prentiss myself, but Hotch deserves to get some loving. He deserves to be happy.

Even though it's been what, at least 1 year, I still find it a little too early for this. I agree that Hotch deserves some happiness but...this just feels iffy and nags at my chest somewhere. However, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and cling to my high hopes somewhere.
BTW, totally agree with the Hotch multitasking thing. He seems to have a lot of time to do a lot of things recently...doesn't seem too realistic...

I want to see Hotch smile more, be human, but I want to see that with Jack and the people who have cared about him for years and not some new chick out of the blue. I want to see more team/family moments.
I'm also on the bandwagon of where is he going to find the time to date and start a relationship that would be realistic, even by TV standards. He'd need the ability to clone himself and a year supply of Adderall.
Having said that, the idea of Hotch contemplating moving on, actually meeting someone and dealing with maybe dating a little or making friends outside of the FBI, I can live with that. It all comes down to how its written and played. But I would rather see Hotch open up to the people who love him and not someone he's never met before (though for him that might be easier because there's less judgment).
