I was gonna do a play by play posting like I did last week for the premiere but I was too glued to my couch to go anywhere. That episode broke my heart into itty bitty pieces. That sigh at the very end from Hotch just killed me.

...Though in happier news: everyone looked fine as hell tonight. The BAU was full on GQ in this episode.

the ending of this episode left me so choked up. poor hotch! and i felt so bad for the unsub as well; he found his answers, but what a price. :(

Reaction to Reid vs Hotch and Elle angst

I just do not understand why Reid must suffer alone while the team is all over Hotch. When Reid went through what he did after Henkel they all just looked at him like he was a petulant teenager rather than a man who had been through hell. No one picked him up or drove him to work. They just let him suffer until he finally had to ask for help in a profiling session in Ashes to Dust. When he could have died of Anthrax they couldn't afford one person to be with him while he could have easily died. They keep talking about this team as a familly but no police office in the world would have been sent to the hospital to die alone. When Hotch came on the plane tonight, he didn't even ask if he was okay, he just asked how long he would be on crutches. I used to love the Hotch character but since his divorce he has seemed weak and needy.

\o/ 1: "You know he'll hate the attention."

\o/ 2: Hotch's spiffy new security system and how he put on his gun before answering the door (carefully checking the peephole). And his snippyness (even with Garcia). I'm glad they're giving him a decent post-traumatic reaction and not blowing this off.
\o/ 2.5: Hotch expects Foyet to come back.

\o/ 3: Hotch refusing to move. He's still got some fight in him.

\o/ 4 and another notch in the Rape Theory belt: Emily picking him up and walking him up to his apartment, and that Hotch is letting her do it. He was raped by a man, so it makes sense he's letting Emily (a woman) fill the job Rossi normally fills as his confidant/support.

\o/ 5: Joe M.'s tone of voice saying, "she wants to." ROSSI KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED, THAR. (Possibly without Hotch even telling him; how awesome is Dave?)

\o/ 6: Morgan as the team watch-dog. It's a continuation of what he did with Gideon. Continuity squee.

\o/ 7: Spencer being all "I'm Mr. Cool" about the leg. Welcome back, honey, I haven't seen you hardly at all since S2.

\o/ 8: Garcia's cookies. I bet she gave them to him even without the yelling because Garcia? Gets It.

Hotch made me cry at the end of the episode, I've always been a big fan of Thomas Gibson but his performance in season 5 is heartbreaking, so far, and that's amazing...
I just hope that it won't go as far as destroying him completely, Hotch is the rock that keeps the team together, but I know it's gonna be painful for a bunch of episodes, and I can't wait for them to catch the damn bastard...
Also, Hotch/Prentiss subtext, hello, that's simply awesome.
