Most writers get the money up front when their manuscript is purchased, yes, but then once book sales hit the amount of the royalty, they start receiving a portion of all the sales. Rossi wouldn't be able to receive that money, but I wonder if he's allowed to put it into a special account that he won't touch until he retires again...? *ponders* Plus, no more book tours while he's an active agent, which popular writers can make a pretty penny on. Which means that the episode Zoe's Reprise? Either couldn't have happened or... I don't even know. The 'Standard of Conduct' is pretty specific about no money or endorsements while you're an employee... oh well. It's a TV show. :/
