Oh, I didn't mean to imply that the spinoff issues came from the network. I was just trying to clarify why I'm always trashing its lights lol. It just looks really lame and I'd be happy to ignore its existence, but I fear that we'll be subjected to a lot of xovers between the two shows. DNW.

The reality that CM will probably never get back to being the great show it was for S1-early S5 is beginning to dawn on me and I guess I'm just feeling bitter/disappointed. I did not reach this conclusion purely because of the sexism!fail (although it doesn't help). S5 post-"100" was just off for me and I don't get the impression that CM is high on TPTB's list of priorities (and I get that, really I do... it's far more exciting to work on a shiny new project than an old but steady one. Too bad the shiny new project is gigantic pile of dog poo). I do feel that, regardless of the reasoning, there's definitely something dodgy about CBS's policies regarding women actors. How much one has to do with the other, I don't know, but the fact that they're both occurring at the same time has given people who want something to blame an easy target. Either way I still think it's shitty was CBS did.
