There’s much more to the story about Dr. Reid’s headaches…except you won’t find out until next season, according to EP Erica Messer. “That’s something that we’re talking to Matthew [Gray Gubler] about and the writers are all trying to figure out what stories we’ve dropped. Honestly, that storyline, that whole idea behind that, started before we lost A.J. [Cook] and Paget [Brewster]. There was a chance that we were fearing to lose Matthew just because of contract negotiations, and that storyline kind of got implanted and then never truly paid off in this season, but we want to sort of conclude that next season. That’s the plan.” Thank goodness the Gubler told me he’s all set for next season and exited about it. Can you imagine a Gube-less CM? Hells to the no! This team is magic!

As long as its not schizophrenia or some other form of mental illness, I think I can roll with just about anything.

Although...that explanation kinda has me confused. I was under the impression that MGG's contract was already in place for next season (that he had a year left) and it was Thomas and Shemar that were in flux.

Matthew is under contract until next year, when there are legitimate fears that he will leave the show to write/produce/direct something of his own. If I am reading the writing on the wall, they are shelving Reid's illness until next year to give them a convenient way to exit his character if MGG doesn't re-sign.

Personally, the day MGG leaves the show is the day I am also gone.

Wow I thought there would have been much more "OMGYESANGSTTTTTT!!" in this thread. I'm pleased there's not. "Corazon" was a painful ep for me, honestly, and I was a bit glad when the plot line seemed to fizzle out, as others have on this show.

Anyway... I can deal with this as long as it isn't:

a) Schizophrenia or another mental illness
b) A brain tumor or something terminal
c) A return to the drug addiction storyline. He's been clean for nearly 4 years now. I see no reason to go back to that, honestly.

NGL and say I'm not nervous about this, since his contract is supposedly up after this next season, so they might have plans for him to go out with a bang. I'm just hoping for the best.

I remember when they were talking about this and said it had something to do with his "genetic past". I would love if it had to do with his mom or dad not actually being his mom or dad or something like that. OR I would have loved if it were somehow tied to him having some kind of high functioning Autism, though they kind of missed the boat to introduce that during "Coda".

I hope he doesn't go or deteriorate in S7. I don't want to have to stop watching, and/or pretend that S7 Reid doesn't exist. :/
