1. They want to keep the gender balance of law enforcement- first off, if that were true, there would be one or maybe two female characters.
If we're sticking to profilers, less than one :), but exactly. Other aspects of law enforcement get stretched/creatively refigured to suit the show, so what's wrong with another female character?
