I liked the JJ family time, because it adds to her character. Plus, by parallel, Hotchy as well, oh god, that uncomfortable moment when JJ was talking about her flight back to her not-murdered husband.
I think, with such a huge assemble cast, it's healthy for each character to take turns having more focus in one episode than to try and split it even everytime, that's just going to lead to not enough time for everyone. Last one it was Rossi, this one it's JJ, next week it's Garcia angst timez...
