Yes, that kinda what I meant. It's just that as they build the characters, I think there's a tendency to concentrate on them more and more and neglect the plot. It happens on most long(er) running shows (and CM isn't even *that* bad IMHO), with the possible exception of the original L&O, and that was because they had a revolving door for their cast at some point.
