"The actor was fired by “Criminal Minds” producers ABC Studios and CBS Television Studios following an internal investigation of an on-set fight in which Gibson allegedly kicked writer-producer Virgil Williams during production of an episode that Gibson was directing."

I'm not okay with physical violence and given this was the second time, I'm glad that ABC and CBS made this decision. Still, I'll miss Hotch on the show.

Except he was defending himself... Virgil is a huge giant douche and a bully and from witnesses he was coming after Thomas. It's not the first time Virgil's had problems either. He had issues when he worked on ER in 2006. Other people at CM have said he's a bully and boasts all the time how he's an MMA fighter. Not to mention he makes sexist comments and jokes about rape (how it's okay, etc). So Virgil isn't a saint in all of this. Frankly it got blown way out of proportion by him and I'm glad Thomas is looking into legal options.

Violence is unacceptable in a creative environment. Gibson already has a history of this, and Virgil is a douchebag. If the story is true that they both went at it, and it was serious enough to fire Gibson over, they should have let Williams go too. Rewarding one bully over another is stupid.

Agree wholeheartedly with this. Which leads me to wonder what else the producers also messed up and if they mismanaged the show as well? I do hope that CBS television studios also fire Virgil Williams since he's not innocent in this as well.

I'll miss seeing Hotch on tv.

I will be honest. Thomas's portrayal of Hotch is what made the show for me plus Garcia and JJ etc. If he is not on anymore it is going to upset the dynamic and i am not sure that I will watch much of next season
