Pondering on character names

matociqualastarted me a-pondering with the thoughts on CM subtexts and gender play and archangels etc. And there was mention of the names of the characters - which are hardly random choices it would seem. So I did a little research and am hoping you might be able to fill the gaps, or tell me I'm talking rubbish! (and sorry if this has been talked about before)
