Wednesday 9 p.m.
Private Practice (ABC): 9.8/15 (#1)
Percent Change from Second Half of Dancing With the Stars: -20
The Bionic Woman (NBC): 9.3/14 (#2)
Percent Change From Second Half of Deal or No Deal: +41
Third in the hour in the overnights was the season premiere of CBS’ Criminal Minds (9.0/14), followed by the week two episodes of Fox’s Kitchen Nightmares (4.1/ 6), and the CW’s Gossip Girl (2.1/ 3). Compared to their week-ago debuts, Kitchen Nightmares dropped by 18 percent (5.0/ 8 to 4.1/ 6), while Gossip Girl slid my a more significant 28 percent (2.9/ 5 to 2.1/ 3). Also of note for Gossip Girl, and this is not positive, was retention out of the second half of America’s Next Top Model (3.9/ 6) of just 54 percent.
Considering that Criminal Minds faced the premiere of two dramas and still managed to build by 67 percent from the second half of Kid Nation (5.4/ 8), make room for another winner in the listings.
**
Take a look around the web, see the reactions to PP and BW and you'll see that their numbers will take a dive and CM's will likely hold very stable and solid. I'd bet that within 5 weeks, CM will have the top spot back.
