Something's bugging me about "Revelations"

Under the cut so as not to spoil anyone here... *g*
Last night I watched "Revelations" again - and while I love this episode to bits, the whole Reid dying sequence bothers me a bit.
First of all, why does he die at all? I get that he was tortured, drugged and everything... but why all of a sudden that strange seizure? Perhaps it was just the impact of Charles' turning over his chair and Reid hitting the floor so hard he maybe swallowed his tongue and therefore couldn't draw breath any longer or something like that. Some kind of seizure doesn't really make sense to me since this problem never gets any mention again (even during Reid's addiction which could have after all triggered more seizures if he were inclined to react in that way to the drugs...).
Secondly, the time frame. Reid's dead, next scene is Tobias/Charles outside arguing and Gideon in the bathroom, so at least some time passed since Reid's death for them to get to their new locations. Let's say 5 minutes pass between Reid dying and Tobias starting CPR which means 5 minutes of no blood circulation to his brain... and we're meant to believe that Reid would just wake up, be fully conscious of his surroundings, and even pick up details about being in a graveyard? I'd expect him to be confused at least for some minutes - he was dead after all and you don't bounce back from that quite so quickly.
Am I just overthinking this? But I guess, given my professional background I can't help it. *g*
Any thoughts?
