If I'd been the one to come up with a spin-off, I would've proposed something like that. But...you know. These people don't care what I think.

I'm not keen on the whole "let's write an episode to introduce a new team and then let's spin-off the new team that nobody knows." Spin-offs, when they're true spin-offs, capitalize on putting familiar characters in new situations. If, for example, Morgan got promoted and led his own team (with Kevin in the tech analyst role, natch!)---now that would be some hot spin-off action.

It's pretty weak to call this a spin-off.
