I didn't get the impression we were suppose to feel sorry for the coyotes. Realize that they were not viable suspects, yes - but not to feel sorry for them. They weren't good suspects because stories of people getting killed in a particular area is not good for their business. Nor do I think we were suppose to feel sorry for drug lord who was killed. It was the deputy's death we were suppose to feel for. That and all the other immigrants that were buried in Boyd's backyard.

Regarding the other cops not noticing - that is something we see a lot in CM. Even cops can't always see the psychopathic killer right in front of them. And it was clear none of the other deputies really knew Boyd.

Yeah, the deputies not really knowing Boyd was part of my problem. They're the only five deputies living in a small town overrun by crime? I know cops who get all band-of-brothersy over fending off a stream of offensive motorists. I would've almost been less bothered if they were in on it... OK, I would've been more bothered, but my "does not make SENSE"ometer would've been appeased.

Actually, if they were all in on it, and they were killing the drug runners, and then Boyd went psycho and started killing just normal illegals, and then they're trying to hide the truth from Honorable Yankee Cop!Ruis and Super Smart Feds!Our Team, while trying to take down Boyd, with a big dramatic Everyone Hooks UP! in the end... that would've been really awesome... And possibly the Boondock Saints. But whatevs, I'm not much of a writer. :)

Yeah. Especially considering the raped woman. That pretty much prevented that the coyotes would come across as too sympathetic, didn't it.
