Woo, new preview! (Spoilers)

So, I was watching the rebroadcast of Mosley Lane, and they actually played a preview for next week's CM!

Alas, I don't have video; hopefully someone will put it up sometime soon. The preview was short, but it featured a serial killer that seemed to be using knives, and quote Hotch, is "A member of the community." More importantly, we got an excellent detail on the new chick, and that is her father was apparently some famous serial killer Reid recognized by name.

Fun, fun. Just had to share.

I am RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED about Rachel Nichols. And there's SO MUCH they can do with a character who has a serial killer for a father - honestly, I'm a little sad that she'll only be around for a few episodes. She would be an interesting addition to the cast.

I don't know the actress but it seems a lot of people are really excited about her, so I assume she's good. I'm definitely more interested in her character now that we know her father's a serial killer; there's some really interesting potential there.

OMG! *hugs you* Someone else who is excited for Rachel Nichols! I felt like the black sheep of the fandom for loving her and being happy about her being on the show! And dude, I SO WISH SHE WAS THE NEW MAIN CHARACTER. Maybe if she gets a positive enough reception, they might consider it? *iz hopeful*

It's just- I get tired of women not having interesting backgrounds or any real arcs aside from love interests. Like, when CM did character-centric stories, Reid has the thing with his mentally ill mom and bitter relationship with his father and the suspected murder. Juicy! Hotch had the thing with a serial killer he never caught. Rossi...the same. But still, exciting! Emily? Oh, old boyfriend. Abortion. Hmm. 'k, then. JJ...um? Drawing a blank.

So yeah, I really hope the writers write the hell out of this cool new chick and her messed up family history. :D

Weirdly, I'm more excited knowing now that she's only for a few episodes, because I know they're more likely to capitalize on her storyline while they've got the time. I loved JJ, but they never really did all they could with her, perhaps because they just always figured they'd have time.

Plus we can write wild fanfic without pesky canon compliance

If CBS really wants us to forgive them for the AJ/Paget fiasco, they should have cast someone who wouldn't remind of constantly of AJ!! Also as a Hispanic, it would have been nice to see someone other than Shemar with some color on this show, they missed a great opportunity to add new life and another type of thinking to the show.

Season 6 isn't due to air in my country for a few weeks/months so I haven't been watching the latest episodes with the rest of you. But watching this preview so makes me wanna download a torrent... I really have no idea whether or not I like Rachel's character but like some of you guys, I just want Reid to GET AY GURL. NOW. I've seen flirtyReid and I love what I saw. ♥

So, this girl's father is a serial killer.
It could be very interesting, I'm looking forward to this episode.
And I'm sure that Rachel Nichols did her best so I hope the reactions won't be too negative.

But I also hope with everything I have that the writers won't hook her up with Reid.
I want to see something more interesting happening to Reid than a girlfriend. I'm hoping for a good storyline, and in my opinion, Reid getting a girlfriend wouldn't be a real storyline.
And I would prefer to see Reid sharing more private and intimate moments with the team.

Not to mention that this girl is still an FBI Cadet, it would be inappropriate for anyone on the team to date her (they are all SSA except for Garcia).

I'm shipping new!girl/Reid already, but at the same time I kind of don't want it to happen on the show, either. One thing I always liked about this show is that the women don't fall ~head over heels~ for one of the guys, which is soooo stereotypical and cliche. I've liked that the women have always been badass, been equals to the men, and never just accessories for relationships. So yeah, kind of in an agreement with you there.

Could be an interesting storyline for the new girl, depending on if they follow through with it...which they failed to do with some potentially good storylines... :|

However, I am praying for them to not start a show romance. I haaaaaate romance in crime shows, or at least really prominent ones. That's why I stopped watching a lot of shows. Do not want team-on-team action. Hahaha.

No romance please. Let her stand on her own as an interesting character. Though I'll never accept her as a JJ replacement. It just cements the disposability of women on this show. I mean if she does become a series reg what's next? When she gets too old, she's out, and they'll snag a younger, prettier blonde? Geezus.

Nay, not really that excited about her. At least she isn't a series regular and Reid isn't my favorite character but if he and her got together I'd be pissed. Because it would be so marysue-ish especially with the fact that her father was a serial killer.
