A spy tells me that star Matthew Gray Gubler (who in season 5 directed the rather creepy episode “Mosley Lane”) is hard at work prepping for his upcoming second turn in the director’s chair. The source tells me shooting will take place in the first week of February, which by my count means the episode should air in March or April. Stay tuned.

Seriously this episode...IDEK what to think. On the one hand, YAY A REID EPISODE, but on the other, NOOOOO HE WILL BE HURT! Plus the clothes in the promo pics remind me of something I remember seeing Zachary Quinto wearing, and I don't know how to feel about *that*.

I guess it is, in terms of chronology -- but I'm new, and so I've watched almost every Reid-gets-hurt episode (except "Jones" and "Minimal Loss") in a month and a half.

I'm super excited MGG is getting to direct again. I loved his work on Mosley Lane and his "documentaries" are made of win! Especially the bits with Shemar and Anton Yelchin.

I hope this is the beginning of a storyline arc and not just one episode. CM has been in a slump lately, they need something to bring it out. Hopefully, we'll get some good Hotch/Reid and Morgan/Reid interaction out of this. I swear to Jeebus if Reid has some serious bad mojo healthwise and they stick Seaver in as his shoulder to lean on, I'll shoot somebody.

Agreed totally on the Seaver thing -- she hardly knows him. If the shoulder must be female, make it Garcia! She knows all, and she's always there for everyone, so it makes sense.

THIS IS THE REID EPISODE WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR FOR FIVE AND A HALF YEARS!!! *flails uncontrollably for a while* (Ever since "Derailed", and then "The Fisher King" and then "Sex, Birth, Death" and "Revelations"). Wednesday can't come soon enough. I thought it was going to air this week and got a major letdown when we didn't even get an ep at all.

He has a lot of demons -- it could be practically anything. He could get flashbacks to Amanda and Tobias, for all we know.

BUT OMG HE LOOKS PRETTY. I forgot how prettily he angsts. Not as pretty as he used to with long hair, but still prettttttttttty. But I'm preparing the tissue box and the nine pm hour for my litany of "Oh, baby, no, darling, Reeeeeiiiiiid, my love, my dear heart," etc.

Seasons 3 and 4 had the best Reid-hair. His hair in season five started looking a tad greasy till he cut it. Then it turned into Zack Addy from Bones original hair, and then to something vaguely similar to Zack's short Season 3 hair (Season 3 of Bones made me want to throw stuff. The Gormogon was cool, but then they ruined it.). Shit, now I'm getting even more nervous, on account of the similarities between the two characters already -- shishitshit don't do this to me, brain!

Yeah, I loved his hair in seasons 3 and 4. Season 5 was okay. I never thought about it, but his hair did look like Zach's. He does remind me a little of Zach (I could not believe they made him Gormogon's helper!) I miss him!

Oh me too. Mostly because I feel like if they were going the schizophrenia route I would hope they'd have enough sensitivity to do it right, meaning slowly over a storyline arc. Having Reid be fine one week and suddenly having episodes the next would be a total fail imo.

Personally, I would ONLY want to see that storyline if MGG were leaving CM since there's no way a mentally ill Reid would be able to continue to work for the BAU. I doubt though they'd revisit his addiction unless TPTB have done a total 180 on the subject. Ed Bernero said in an Eonline interview "Let me put it this way: It was something we thought on a drawing board was a better idea than it became. I don't think that the format of the show really supported following Reid's character around being drug addicted. I think that it ultimately was a better idea theoretically than it ended up being in practice. So, I think we just kind of...he got better." So unless they've completely reversed themselves, we probably won't ever see Reid relapse.


My best guess as to what's going on is he THINKS he's succumbing to mental illness so he goes into denial about what's happening with him-hence the "demons" comment, but eventually goes to get checked out and turns out its a brain tumor or something like that.
