Ok, I'll make myself a deal.

If I cave and buy Season One of Criminal Minds at work today (with my employee discount, woo), I will absolutely not buy anything except for gas and other essentials until March. Because I need to control my spending. seriously. And that includes the cafe, because I can bring food for free.

*crosses heart* I swear I will abide by this! Because I'm totally going to buy it!

I feel your pain! S1 is released over here on Monday, but will be soooo much cheaper in about 3 months, if I can wait. The only drawback being that I have a horrible feeling once "The Fisher King 1" has aired NEXT Thursday, there'll be no more CM for ages and ages...

I can't buy it here until April, and I've already made the same deal with myself that you have - no unneccessary spending if I treat myself to CM. But I'll have to buy lots of junk food to eat during my CM marathon, so I guess my plan is already destroyed! Good luck with your pledge of thriftiness, and enjoy your DVDs!
