Question about Prentiss/Hello Post/Fic recs?

Hello all,

I recently got hooked on Criminal Minds (via A&E). I seem to have a bizzarre sense of timing, because just as I caught up to current episodes, it seems my favorite characters have just left, or very likely may leave! Ah well, there's still all the old eps, and hope for future eps.

My Question! (For a potential plot bunny)

Do we know anything at all about Emily's father? Did she have a step father? Is Ambassador Prentiss divorced? Or (this suites my plot bunny) is he never mentioned at all?

Prentiss once said that "[her] parents" did not use their political influence to help her get the job at the BAU but, someone correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think Mr. Prentiss has really been mentioned otherwise. (My headcanon is that he committed suicide.)

Prentiss is basically my favorite person from anything forever. I have a lot of recs, mostly Reid/Prentiss. Would it be cool if I messaged you? (Or not, you know, if you don't really care for that.)
