So what do we think? Small wardrobe budget? Thematic union between the two most painful events of his life? Thematic union between Reid's relationship with his mom and Tobias' relationship with his dad?  (Tobias "putting his father down" and Reid putting his mother away?)  UNLUCKY SHIRT?

Also, something that just clicked for me....

Reid has four track marks on his arm, not two, when we've only seen him be injected twice.

But the first time we see him get injected, his sleeve is already rolled up.

I find that... suggestive.

I swear I only noticed because I have a similar shirt, though it's a blue and white micro-houndstooth check. And I put it on this morning. And then I looked at my sleeve and went...

Could be a stereotypical guy thing for sure. I've been with my husband for almost eight years. In his closet there are shirts and sweaters that I have never seen him wear because they pre-date our relationship. And yet will he get rid of them? No. :P

My dad went through a phase where he owned about twenty light blue shirts and twenty beige slacks. He wore literally the same outfit every day.

Anyway, good catch with the shirt. And I had been wondering about his sleeve, and the track marks, of course. The more I think about it, the likelier it seems that there were injections that we just didn't see.

I am thinking that after he whacked him upside the head in the cornfield, Tobias probably injected him there to keep him quiet on the ride.

That would be entirely in keeping with the psychology of people who live in their heads. I live with one -- he doesn't want to have to think about that sort of thing. He just wants it to be there because it has to be, and with the least effort possible.

That was actually intended as a humorous comment. *g* The two stills are supposedly from seven years apart.

I think it's an intentional imagistic link.

Reid's dress sense reminds me not so much of that of people who live entirely in their own heads, as people who have a really odd sense of humor about their clothing. He doesn't care if he looks *fashionable,* but he's got a couple of pretty nice suit jackets, and that olive green velvet jacket that he wears with the clashing lavender scarf, for example.

I suspect Garcia takes him shopping. *g*
