Interesting...first time in a longish while that they gave more screen time to the unsub than to the team, even counting the scene-cuts from the counselling. And we still got some nice snippets. All in all, a nice solid ep. The unsub wasn't all that interesting, though.
State of the Seaver: does anybody else feel like the writing team isn't even making an effort to integrate her into the team? There's still nothing special or interesting about her. She's an NPC, not a PC, to go completely into D&D analogy land. I mean, there's an Emily-shaped hole in the show, but we could lose Seaver without even noticing it, except there'd be fewer times people would state the obvious.
I'm with Hotch and Morgan, wishing Emily was back.
Word! I agree. I have been saying this for the longest too and that Emily shaped whole is glaring at times. When JJ left it wasn't that bad but at this point since Emily "died" It like Morgan/Reid/Garcia/Rossi/Hotch and then Seaver. Maybe they just kept her out of the interview onscreen because they felt like she would be intruding.
I bet Anderson from season 1-2 is crying into his file reports because a cadet-rookie gotten promoted over him. There isn't anything special about her in my eyes either I just focus that much more on the characters we have left.
I'm annoyed at the writers, since I'm quite liking Seaver, and I wish they'd start to do something with her. While I'm mildly annoyed that there was no on-screen interview/therapy session between her and Hotch, I can understand why they left her out. Even so, I think it was a missed opportunity to give her some character development.
*cough* Uh...yeah. That's my two cents. *goes back to lurking*
