Is Will really just a stay at home dad? Was there ever any mention of what he might do for a living after moving to the DC area to be closer to JJ? Didnt she also make some mention of her mother coming to live with them? Wouldnt that free Will up to work? I'm writing a fic and if there's something from canon I've forgotten about I want to throw it in there.

They didn't really say, as far as I can remember. They said he quit his job in NO to move to Virginia with JJ but he could have gotten another job with the police there. They just never said. I'm not sure about JJ's mother; I don't really remember that so it could be, I guess. But I don't think anyone would fault your fic if you take some liberties with JJ & Will's home life. We really don't know much about it.

I know in one episode, can't remember which, JJ and Emily are talking about Mick Rawson and Emily is giving excuses for why they can't date. One of them is their schedules. JJ says "Will and I make it work," present tense, which implies to me that Will is still working in law enforcement. But I think you could really do whatever you want and have it be okay since it's not specified in canon.

I love the writers, but remembering and addition are not their strong points.
