Question: Do you have any spoilers on Criminal Minds, specifically regarding A.J. Cook’s (JJ) or Paget Brewster’s (Prentiss) returns? —Valerie

Ausiello: Not only is JJ back, but she gets a promotion! And re: Prentiss, much of the team does not handle finding out that she is still alive well, especially Dr. Reid, who feels betrayed.

Shouldn't Morgan be more pissed than Reid, since the former actually called her his partner and thought he was watching her die? I'm not saying Reid shouldn't be hurt, but why is he "especially" upset, other than his status as fandom woobie?

Weren't they closer though. Like didn't he talk to her about stuff (like his headaches, I think it was?)? (I've missed a season and have crap memory at times lol)

Don't forget, Emily was the one that really got close to Reid after Gideon disappeared, too. I think they probably had geek nights together & stuff and that they were really good friends. Pair that up with his abandonment issues and there you are.

I don't doubt Morgan will be very pissed too. But he gets over stuff like this quickly.

Morgan's bound to pissed the hell off, but it's nice to see that somebody's remembering Reid's issues with abandonment...

But no matter what happens, it's gonna be a shitshow.

The Boot Gun. Hotch's second gun is introduced in 1x06 (LDSK), is mentioned in 1x10 (The Tribe), and makes an appearance in 5x09 (100).

So I do have a hope. *shrugs*

Admittedly, there's plenty of points that got dropped (WHY IS JACK GETTING MEDICALLY TESTED IN "PSYCHODRAMA?" WHAT DOES HE HAVE????).

*clutches at straws anyway*

For most of CM's run, it's had terrible continuity with details (is Hotch right- or left-handed, how old is he anyway, where did JJ go to college, etc.) but very good emotional continuity. Reid has abandonment issues, Hotch has anger issues, Prentiss compartmentalizes, Morgan has issues with kids. It hasn't been perfect, but it's the rare issue that it's forgotten completely.

The first thing I thought, upon reading this about Prentiss and Reid, is that maybe Reid will relapse on dilaudid. I don't actually think the writers will really go that route, though. It will be interesting to see how Reid reacts, IMHO, because I love Reid as the woobie, LOL.

I'm waiting to find out what promotion gets JJ and about Prentiss, I had thought it would be Morgan who would take it the hardest, with his trust issues :/

Thing is I can see Morgan being really, really mad, but at the same time understanding the reason why Prentiss, Hotch and JJ did what they did. And Morgan's anger was more about Prentiss going somewhere where Morgan couldn't help protect her/and or watch her back. I can see him being mad, but I don't think he would hurt.

Reid on the other hand does have abandonment issues. Reid would not be so much angry as hurt and wondering why Prentiss couldn't trust them.

Mmm, I don't know, I think Morgan would be angry with Hotch and JJ because they don't tell him the truth and angry and hurt with Prentiss, first because she did not trust him and the team and then because she left.

And while I agree Reid has abandonment issues, I personally don't think his reaction should be too different from Garcia's or Morgan's because during all this time they all believed she was dead and not just left, and of course he's gonna be hurt when Prentiss come back, but I honestly don't see why Reid's reaction should be deeper or biggest that Garcia's or Morgan's. Of course this is just my opinion.

A.J Cook mentioned recently that J.J becomes more of a profiler. I know Hotch suggested it back in season 3 once.

Also, CM just drops things but i don't think they have many continuity errors (I don't think anyway)

Hee, Hotch's timeline is all kinds of messed up. How he managed to be a hotshot lawyer while rising in the ranks of the FBI baffles me. Those are both full-time careers that take ages to get established in, and he's only what, early 40s? So...yeah.

And there was something about Garcia's number of siblings changing? IDK, it's just the Hotch thing I lol over.

I figured Hotch was closer to 50 like TG? do they ever say?

From: [identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com
Oh, wow, 50? I'm such a terrible judge of age... *facepalm*

IDK, and I'm not the best person to ask, because I'm also terrible dates, but people were trying to reconcile the facts we got from the show and it didn't work. He was apparently on bodyguard detail or something for Ambassador Prentiss at a certain point in time, and people said it was unrealistic for him to have worked his way up to his position at the prosecutor's office and made a name for himself and then to have quit and gone through training at the FBI and qualified as agent by the date given.

THIS IS ALL SO VAGUE, I'M SORRY. *facepalm*

If I cared more, I'd calculate the length of time Hotch and Haley were married (20 years or something?) and since they were high school sweethearts, you could work out when he graduated and do a timeline, but I'm not that detail-oriented.

Plus he was a SWAT team member as well. It seems to me his age was listed on his chart as 43 in Nameless, Faceless. I think. So yes. Time and Hotch do not really compute.

they met in college i think, but i guess it doesn;t matter, lol. I imagine they decide things in earlier seasons then writers come and go, and things are forgotten, But if he left the law by 30, which is time enough to become a hotshot, he'd have 10 yrs + in the FBI which is time enough...actually when Prentiss started it'd been 10 yrs since he worked for her mother ,which is something a academy person would have done, i dunno, lol. But hey, i love Hotch and the show anyways

I have vague memories that in The Fisher King it's confirmed he's 39 because of the yearbook he and Haley go through. Meaning he's in his mid-40s currently.

In 'faceless, nameless' we caught a glimpse of Hotch's medical records, and his age was listed as 43, making him, what 44/45 now? :)

From season one?

I thought Garcia had five brothers in her family.
Of course, she was adopted by her step-father & her parents died in the car crash when she was eighteen-ish.
Don't know if her brothers are some combo of whole, halves and/or steps.
Or if they decided to have them get on Hotch's brother's train.
{le sigh}

I'm glad that the show will spend some time on how the team deals with Prentiss' return. It's understandable that some people wouldn't handle it very well.

This is exactly what I dont want....more drama.

I just wish they would move on and get back to what the show is really about, profiling. Because every time the writers try to go a little deeper I feel they fail so miserably.
