Reid is acting even more clueless than usual, and not only is he clueless, but he's passive-aggressive.

Yeah, but he didn't get flushed. So it's okay that he went down the hole.

Gideon, on the other hand, might not have made it back up if he'd gone down. War vet with issues of being in dark, confined, underground places. Gee. Could it be that Gideon gets to the one on this episode who could've been the bad guy but didn't end up fracturing along quite those particular stress lines when he broke?

I freaked out when Reid came in late at the beginning..I seriously started screaming, "NO! He was doing drugs, wasn't he???!!!"

How ironic/symbolic was it when he talked about PTSD?

Ironic, no. Irony is when you say one thing and mean the opposite, and that isn't what he was doing in this situation. Symbolic? I'm not sure.

It definitely wasn't chance on the part of the writer(s).

The whole exchange between Reid and Hotch was actually pretty heart wrenching. The whole "He's reliving the worst event in his life" thing...

And, oh no he didn't just hang up on Garcia! Just say no Reid, just say no!

My god... I just realized that the boy the poor man killed was approximately the same age I was in 1993.

To put it into perspective for those of you who aren't really clear, the boy would be Reid's age or younger.

That's just sad; not just that the boy was killed, but also that someone press ganged him into the military.

Now I want to know if the crew acted against police instruction; if they did, and I were the widow, I'd sue the company (for funeral expenses, at least).

I did! I did! I mean didn't Gideon say something about telling the construction workers to hold off in that area or something? They had to have known, and even if they didn't when the FBI are out with their guns kind of being "stealth" and talking to someone, and being very careful who thinks "Ok well I'll just keep on jack hammering." Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Gideon...Hotch, and all is good (well except Reid but that is for later)
But Please can we have something different than a deep broding Gideon, and actually get some character advancement. Please!
Jack the Ripper ep. I'm not sure how that is going to go over. It's been done so many times, I hope the twist is worth it!

We get deep, brooding Gideon, or distant, distracted Gideon, or - my favorite - Gideon who says not a word but has the sweetest smile. I'm always convinced he is going to go completely batshit crazy when he looks like that.

I think I held my breath for the last two minutes - from the moment they realized Gideon went missing. I thought we might actually get some character development. I was wrong.

They sure are breaking everyone this season. Poor Garcia!

Okay, I avoided posting during the episode, so now I'm doing my stunned reaction comment.

First off, poor Prentiss. She's entirely too uncomfortable in her place in the BAU to have been talking to Reid, but she had no choice, and I really don't envy her.

Second, poor Reid. Why is no one taking him aside and talking to him? Gideon, Hotch, I'm looking at you.

The entire episode is something I just need to rewatch to figure out my reaction.

lol, I was thinking the exact same thing. Some leaders they're turning out to be. It's almost ridiculous how they simply refuse to confront anyone about anything. But I think the writers deserve a good glaring - I mean come on, Hotch and Gideon can not be that stupid. They aren't even stupid!

Though I think I'm the only one who enjoyed Reid snapping at Prentiss. I'm not a fan of her and just the fact that Reid was being a complete bitch the entire episode was making me laugh.

Maybe it was because of the end of last week's episode, or the way he looked when Reid came in late, but I think Morgan is gonna figure out his drug problem first. Everyone else has seemed to be all *heads in the clouds* to me.

So, I cuss, so if you don't like that you might not like my review:

Is it just me or is Reid totally reminding you of MGG's "Mockumentary" minus the funny. Just the bitchy. Hey, I'm ok with the bitching simply because I think it is adding more depth to his character. Before Evil!Dawson he was so naive, disconnected, now he is experiencing full fledged emotion and doesn't know how to handle it. However, I hope this is not a continuing trend. Let's leave the emoplosions for Sam Winchester- he's a professional rainy window starer and I would miss Matthew gorgeous smile. I am glad they are giving MGG a chance to stretch his wings and um yeah I don't feel bad for Prentiss. So, a co-worker had a bad day. If I had a dollar for every time I wanted to "smackabitch" at work when I'm pissed off or have gotten an earful from a pissed off employee I would be a rich woman. She'll get over it. However, this does not mean the Reid is aloud to pull a Elle. We've been there. Lets not go there again. Its dark there and it leads to tears and boredom. Plus, I am pretty much an ass myself so maybe I was just relating Reid's annoyance towards stupid people. Plus, I'm a forensic anthropologist so if you knew all the ways to die I did you'd be damn cautious too. I should work on empathy. Ah screw that.

I really want to know why they send the black guy down the hole. Is it like a sorry we're too white to go in the stinky hole of death and doom--- lets send the black guy. Brilliant!! Heh. Poor Morgan.

I think it has more to do with Gideon's service in Vietnam and his own PTSD issues than anything else. Maybe someday they'll fill us in on more of his background.
