One of Agent Rossi’s (Joe Mantegna) three ex-wives will be coming out of the woodwork this season on Criminal Minds.

Homicide Life on the Street‘s Isabella Hofmann has landed a two-episode arc as Rossi’s first wife, new showrunner Erica Messer confirms to TVLine exclusively.

“She’s the love of his life,” Messer elaborates. “We’ll meet her in Episode 5″ when she comes to her former hubby for help.

Hofmann’s credits also include JAG, Providence and Dear John.

Oh, and it's the lady who played Meredith on JAG. And IMDB tells me, a judge on NCIS. Can NCIS stop using JAG actors? I'm still not over Sean playing a major recurring role on JAG and then suddenly becoming McGee on JAG.

Well, at least NCIS isn't as bad as JAG was. NCIS has never used an actor as two characters. Catharine Bell played a single episode character and then went on to play a main character. It was really, really jarring.

It was weird for me because I didn't see the first season until the dvd came out. And then only that season was available for a while, so I watched it quite a few times. So seeing Catherine in that episode was just strange. And she didn't exactly act all that differently either.

I think them being together was a lie but I don't think them loving each other was. Rossi said he should've married Emma.

The actress looks okay, but the whole background story is more than surreal for me. The fisrt wife, the first love the One and Only... it's such a chliche. -.-;;;;;
Probably the writers thought the happy scene at Jack's soccer play was too khhmmmm...... so they pulled a skeleton out of the closet.

I always imagined Rossi's first wife was the one who got away and he was trying to recreate that feeling with other women. I like Isabella Hofmann but she's not quite what I imagined. Still, it could be interesting, since I always thought their divorce was the most amicable (it got worse as he went down the line).

This episode has the possibility of post-eps for days.

It sounds really interesting, a little cliche, but interesting and I'm glad we'll learn something more about Rossi's background.
