This man has pretty pretty eyes.
Picspam: Jason Gideon, plus one from when Mandy was younger and looking like a Count-level vampire (srsly), and plus the ones from Dead Like Me, filmed just before CM so he looks very Gideon like. Swoon Time
Also: I is a n00b currently making my way through S2 (though I'm also watching 7 as it airs and I have actually caught CM episodes here and there in the past years), um, any other n00b here who wants to n00b with me?

Date: Nov. 30th, 2011 05:00 am (UTC)The way I read the Gideon and Reid dynamic, it's always Reid pushing for intimacy, any kind, while Gideon keeps him at arms length for a variety of reasons - if it's sexual, then it's "hell no, you are too young", if it's not, then it's him thinking that he's going to screw up too. He looks out for Reid but he actively pushes Reid to other people.
I like Rossi too. Frankly, Gideon was broken on Day 1 on show, it really would have made sense storywise if he was go have reduced involvement, I really wish they had done that, maybe Mandy wouldn't have walked off.
The Mandy walk off probably contributed to the animosity, but dude, he had a lot of issues going on his life, he had, within a few years, eye surgeries and cancer, and he was geting older. Plus, he sounds like a nice...sheltered dude, who is afraid of confrontation, which was why he didn't bring it up before, until he realise he couldn't do it anymore. /If he brought it up before, they would have tried to talk him out of it.
As a Buffy fan, I still remember how iffy things got at the end, I just hope that Mandy and the rest of the CM cast are friends again once stuff cooled down. SMG did the Buffy show for 7 years, and her character was burning out (died two times...) and the show was visibly eating her up - the darker themes of S6 meant more night scenes meant more weird schedules for the slayer actors meant that she was looking like the living dead. While Buffy's character and actress was wearing down however, Willow and Xander just got started, and I remember the general unpleasant resentment vibe from Aly which I totally understand, supported by a lot of fans, that SMG was selfish or something...but I think it's better now, which is good because they were all once so buddies with each other they had sleepovers.
...and on Elle again, some people don't like her bitchy vampy characterization...well, in her character development file (though it was from the same era as when Hotch was supposed to be a blond mormon...), Elle was raped when she was 19, and they never caught the guy. This explains her defensiveness so much. Remember how Morgan acted in "Profiler Profiled"? That's Elle, but more often, more constantly, because as a woman, she can't closet it as much.
