I normally dislike unsub focus, but I like it this time because it show us his mind, and um, I totally count his family as unsubs as well, they definitely murdered the sex therapist girl. I actually think that the most brutal blows were done by the mother, when she came in to finish the sex therapist off - and that the one placing the dead girls in the nurturing positions were the father, since he was the one who dispose of them after all! Plus, the father had wanted a daughter, while the mother was very misogynist, viewing the girls as things for her son to use up. The sex therapist was wrapped neatly in plastic by the mother.
Race day was a perfect team moment, and then Beth showed up.
Profile timez!
Beth Clemmons is an organized serial killer with serious daddy issues - the trigger was either the death of her cancer-stricken father months prior to meeting Hotch, or the news of the cancer itself. Beth believes she's avenging her long neglected mother or even her childhood self when she chooses to punish widowed men with young children who she views as being neglectful of his family. Hotch is deemed guilty for replacing Haley with Jessica as the mother and Beth as his new woman.
Exactly. Just enough time to go 'yay - team! Off the clock!' and then Beth. Downer. :-(
It wasn't the worst ep. of the season (I still say that "honor" goes to the boxing-ep), but... yeah. It just grated on me that we spent so much time with the family and - hello? Remember your fanbase? We iz not stupid, thank you very much! - 90% of us had probably already figured out the whys and the wherefore's before we got that 'team sitting around a table, tossing out possibilities'-scene, where JJ says; "Maybe it's parents and a child." Which was where I felt completely bummed, because this is not the show I love! I love the show where the team gets to be smart and get smarter along the way by getting more clues and refining their profile - not just have a 30-second boring scene where they eventually tell us what we already know, because the show's already shown it!
Also... I love JJ, but when the heck did she get to be a profiler? Didn't I just see her telling the girl covering for her during her maternity-leave that the team can't know there's profiling involved in her job, because she's not a profiler? Am I supposed to believe that she took some classes while she was 'on loan' to the Pentagon? Or am I just supposed to have forgotten her job? Which, by the way, seems to be done by Garcia, these days, more often than not.
Meh. Whatever. You need to read the fic I finished today which I'll probably post in the next couple of days... ;-)
Re: JJ, refer to 7x01 - she was evidently taking the profiler classes while she was at the Pentagon, which she probably had a leg up on just from being around it so much. She returned to the BAU as Emily's replacement, not as the Communications Director/Liaison she was earlier.
