What's up with a pregnant tummy being public property for patting? That would make me stabby.
I don't know the answer to this, but I can tell you one of my co-workers experienced it more than a little with both her pregnancies. People thought it was perfectly acceptable to just walk right up and touch it. No asking. No deferring to her desires. Just reach out and touch it.
Yeah, definitely rude. My personal, ahem, favorite was what someone said to her. She is naturally very slender and has tried to gain a few pounds to fill out her curves just a bit. After her second child someone told her she should keep some of her baby weight because she was prettier with the added weight. Made me just want to punch the person who said it to her but I wasn't around to say something in response. She came back to my cubicle and looked like she wanted to cry.
