I was pretty pleased with this episode. Interesting story with some twists and turns. Gave the writer in me a bit of a twinge that's for sure!
I need a rewatch to get all of the character moments clear in my head but what jumped out at me was the conversation Strause had with the team, Reid's behavior during the take down and his brief conversation with Hotch afterwards. Looks like the Replicator storyline will be kept in the background but not forgotten, actually a pretty plausible approach. I am sooo excited to see an obvious sign that Maeve's death is backing up on Reid. There have bee hints on the internet that that arc would not be forgotten. Hopefully more to come. A chance for MGG to stretch his acting muscles a bit too. Reid has been in the background since "Magnum Opus".
I liked the last part with Reid and Hotch too-- of course Reid would try another tactic in which the previous talking tactic failed when trying to save Maeve-- i'm glad Maeve finally gets a mention after all these episodes.
It seems we're back to ignoring the stalker storyline. At least this time the stalker storyline was acknowledged instead of simply forgotten about, and we (finally) got some of the fallout from Maeve's death.
This episode was really gross and I feel like for something as significant as, you know, ripping people's tongues out the "why" of it was resolved and then tossed aside pretty quickly. I was hoping for something clever and unexpected instead of the kinda standard unsub serial killer backstory.
I'm really annoyed that Kevin is back because I hate him. I probably only hate him because I'm a Garcia/Morgan 'shipper, but I hate him nonetheless and I wish he would leave again. I probably won't like the new boyfriend for the same reason.
While I don't actively 'Ship' Morgan/Garcia, I'm with you in regards to Kevin. He's just...icky? Lame? Pointless? Pick an adjective here. Garcia deserves better than the standard geek given to other geeks as a partner. She's too sweet, smart and sassy for someone like Kevin.
As for the tongues..yeah, gross but not really the point of the episode. I saw this as more about our BAU family. Definitely some issues for certain characters. And as a writer interested in writing groups of all kinds, this struck as sort of a queer cautionary tale. Be careful who you trade ideas with :)

I didn't really see how the stories talked about ripping tongues out either-- did it mean that they talked too much online therefore deserved to not have to use their tongues to talk anymore? I thought it was overly gross too...very sadistic and messed-up.
As for the case, it was a good episode. I liked the twist of the teacher copying his students' murder stories. Tho the ripping out the tongue part was a bit unnecessary for me.
