I was thinking though, Garcia wasn't black-haired and Goth-like in Rasa, but the quirky blonde we've come to know. If Morgan was expecting one thing and saw another, what if Garcia's "new look" threw him off?
Probably not the greatest possible-explaination, but just a thought.
That's what I was thinking, too. Maybe they didn't really interact much from the time he said, "Welcome to the team" to the time he called her Gomez/Baby Girl (haha, thanks to Reid).
It still doesn't explain why he acted so nice to her when he first called her Baby Girl, he knew she was almost arrested. I would have assumed he'd be a little more hostile or stand-offish with her at first. But that could just be me.
So as already noted, they did push the reset button when it came to how Garcia and Morgan first met. I was disappointed by that as it really wasn't necessary. I suppose without Gideon or Elle to fall back on as a 'partner' for Hotch, the writer used the next logical choice in Morgan. Meh.
As for the rest of episode, as KV herself commented on Zapit, it was definitely different from any other CM episode previously shown. Overall I did like the story. I thought it was fun to see a bit of Garcia's dark past. And the affirmation that even at her darkest she still had standards was a good choice. The Unsub and his imprisoned partner didn't really stand out. Standard monster of the week as a backdrop for a Morgan/Garcia story. The sexual harassment seminar was a bit of a surprise. I'm sure there are people who would consider Morgan and Garcia's flirtation as inappropriate. In their case I say who does it harm? Morgan is strictly professional with anyone else and Garcia rarely interacts with anyone besides her team, who all understand and accept her.
For some reason, I thought that the ex-bf had somehow lodged an "anonymous" complaint, since he seems to have been watching Morgan and Garcia for a little while? Or maybe that was just hopeful thinking because I really love their banter and I hope they keep it up.
