Hey, I'm writing a Nathan/Reid fanfic and in need of some help. Some of this are CM related and others are just general but if you can help with anything that would be great.

* How old is Morgan?

* Where does Nathan live? Quantico of DC? I suppose Quantico is a city all by it self, am I right? Do the profilers also live in Quantico?

* Was if ever stated in the show was exactly what Nathan mental illness?

General Question:

* Is there any laws in Virgina and the rest of the Us about a adult kissing an underage? Does it differ if the underage is male or female? (I'm asking since in Israel it does.)
* How many states have a law saying sex between two man is an offense (I know some does, even if they don't enforce it).

Thanks in advance
Noam Jen

Quantico is a town in Virginia. It's also a Marine base, which is where the FBI is located. Do we know where any of the team live? The screencap of Hotch's house just says "Washington DC"

In the episode Profiler, Profiled, Morgan's age is given as 33.

We don't really know where any of them live. I'd suspect on the Virginia side of DC since that's where Quantico is but that's only a guess.

Quantico is a very small town (pop. about 600) and the very LARGE Marine base surrounding it, about 35 miles southwest of D.C, in Virginia. The FBI Academy is on the base, as is the DEA Academy. No one seems to know where TPTB think the show is actually set, but the Metro subway on the Nathan ep is (I'm told) definitely D.C. and some suburbs thereof, but does NOT go to Quantico. It's extremely unlikely that any of the BAU team live in the village of Quantico, but they haven't said much on the show (I'm told) about where they all live.

In some places it makes a big difference if the underage person is the same sex as the older person, or the other sex from them. Mostly very backward-thinking states, SUCH AS KANSAS (grr), and the Supreme Court has told them they gotta stop doing this, but... This is sometimes because the laws are applied differently, and sometimes because the actual laws are different for homosex. Washington, D.C. is kind of a weird one, because it is not a state, it's a city that belongs to no state. It has a history of very odd legal stuff because of its peculiar status. Try Googling "Washington D.C." and "age of consent". But the states nearby (Virginia and Maryland) might also be involved, depending on where you set your story. Needless to say, Reid, as an FBI agent, would be extremely sensitive to the legal issue.

Yes, it is illegal to have anything that could be considered "sexual contact" with a person under the legal age limit, which includes kissing; though kissing would probably not get you much of a sentence, with a teenager. The age of consent does vary from state to state, as low as 14, as high as 18, I believe; most are 16-18. There are different legal ages for different things: eg, sex, viewing pornography (which is often older than the one for sex!), voting, driving, drinking, etc. Nathan seems to live in Washington, D.C. itself. I can't recall how old they said Nathan was on the episode, or indeed, if they did say.

Kansas is also one state in which homosex is illegal. Sorry I don't know the exact number of states with such laws -- and it keeps changing! :-) You can also try looking that up on the Internet, there are lists out there.
