I just found this community and am over the moon that I did! I've been marathoning CM like crazy (sadly still only in S3 because of school), but I'm making a vid for the team and I have been going insane trying to find a specific scene. Help? *begging eyes* Please?

I've noticed in Criminal Minds slash, Reid is always the submissive partner. On the show he's portrayed as somewhat shy at times, but not necessarily a submissive type of person. Why do you think he's written this way? Is it realistic for him to always be written as the bottom? Why isn't he written more as his partner's (Hotch, Morgan) equal?

I'm confused on timeline....

I have a couple of questions that I need answered for a fic that I am thinking of writing.

1. How long have Aaron and Haley been married?
2. How long has Aaron been in the FBI?
3. How long has Aaron been in the BAU, seeing that he was SWAT before he went into the BAU.
4. If Aaron fell in love with Haley from they were in college, did they seperate for a while before they got married?
5. When Haley and Aaron got married, was he still a prosecuter, or was he with the FBI then?

The reason I ask is this. I had a theory that they have been married for 8 years. They were probably engaged for a while, maybe 3-4 years then Aaron decided to go into the FBI, they got seperated, and he had a thing with Joyner during their seperation. They got back together and were married.

Also, Aaron knew Dave when he was still with the FBI. I am going to assume that Dave was Unit Chief then. I do not know if Aaron knew Ryan or not, but I know that Ryan left before Dave did. So how did the timeline thing go? Cause as far as I know, Aaron has been in the BAU for 10 years right? So when Dave left 8 years prior, Gideon became Unit Cheif. But then Aaron was transfered maybe? to another branch as he was not apart of the team that Adrian Bale killed. so when Gideon had his little breakdown, and came back, Aaron was what, his second in command, or Unit Cheif? I am not certain on these details. Can someone please help me to clarify what and when exactly these instances occurred? Thank you!

Het!Reid vs. Slashy!Reid

We had a great discussion going on here about Reid as written in slash fics.  Some people touched on Reid written in het fics as well and I was hoping to explore that a little more.   I know het isn't as popular amongst fandoms as slash is (and this is across the board), but I've seen two distinct variations of Reid in het fics, and I'm new to the genre.  There's the confident, self-assured Reid who's clearly aware of what he's doing, and then there's the Reid who is a total fumble and fail and lets whoever he's with sort of take over.  What do you think is more accurate and why do you think we see two ends of the spectrum?  What episodic evidence do we have when it comes to formulating Reid's sex-life, if any, and how do you interpret it?
