Personally, I don't really care since he's not my favorite lol, but that's kinda weird? They can't just make a premiere w/o him all of a sudden.

WEIRD, i'm not a huge gideon fan but he's a huge character. i have trouble picturing the premiere without him. i wonder if they're seriously searching for a new "gideon". i don't really like that idea :\

Well, if Mandy is out, I'm out - he's one of the main reasons I watch the show in the first place. *Depressed now*. Sounds like they are going to repeat the CH experience - that show fizzled out after he left as well. I really hope that is just a rumour, though...

After reading that I must confess that my first thought is that they have no idea what the word "chanteuse" means. Mandy Patinkin would be a chanteur, not a chanteuse.

that sounds fishy to me. they wouldn't write him out for missing one day of shooting, so there's either got to be something a lot bigger behind this story (like the contract dispute that is all but brushed off in the story) or TV Guide is mis-informed. writing him out of the show just suddenly at this point would be like writing Grisom out of CSI, and I honestly don't think they'd be stupid enough to do such a thing. in the current plot line they're following, I could see Gideon sacrificing himself to the bureacratic sword in order to keep Hotch and the rest of his team together, but otherwise it'd be ridiculous.

I agree with you, sure, the show may lose SOME viewers since there are mandy fans and mandy fans alone, but all of them make the show and all of them have loads of fans. I don't think Mandy leaving the show eventually would hurt cm too much. Reid has become the most popular character, and if MGG left, THEN I could believe the show would be dead.

I think i'd only stop watching if JJ was killed :P

Blegh. If that's true, I'm probably not going to keep watching. He's one of the characters that I can't imagine the show without, plus if they try to cast someone new that has his characteristics? I might be able to watch without Gideon, but with a 'Gideon-like-replacement'? Yick.

Maybe Jill is not commenting, is because, OMG SHOCKER! She does not have any insider knowledge WHAT-SO-EVER. Guillible people: A mind is a terribe thing to waste. She was on the set for like what? A few days or so, and you guys think she is already an insider?? She basically bullshits every little thing.

Okay. To those saying, if Mandy leaves you'll leave as well, I think it;s so ridiculous. I LOVE Criminal Minds and everyone on the show, but for god sakes, this is NOT THE MANDY PATINKIN SHOW! It's an ENSEMBLE. REMEMBER THAT.
