I started watching because of Mandy Patinkin. But I love all the characters now. And I'll keep watching without him in the cast.

I hope they manage to get these episodes re-written, or put some kind of explanation in there for his absence.

Dang. Gideon was like... the only 'lead' character I ever really liked on any shows. That blows. But oh well, the show must go on. I wonder how they are going to pull it off.

wow...I didn't expect something like this from him. that's kind of rude and I just lost quite a bit of respect for him because of this. he just kind of left everyone on the show hanging. it's a shame he couldn't just show up for one episode to give them a proper chance at writing him out of the show. now I imagine they're left with no option but to kill the character off (kind of like in 'judging amy' when the actor died in real life).

there is no doubt in my mind they'll keep this show going strong with the remaining cast. the cast is amazing, the show is fantastic, and I honestly didn't expect the gideon character to hang around much longer, anyway. it's just a shame they're forced to rewrite a whole third of the season because he just didn't show up, though.

I personally feel sorry for the entire cast and crew on this one. You're all right, the show must go on.

As a future television writer, I know how difficult it is to get scripts in, and to have to totally rewrite them is total, utter, hell. But, they're amazing, and they'll manage, and hopefully, with luck, the show will survive.

seriously, I can't imagine the chaos that ensued when he didn't show. I feel so bad for everyone else involved with the show.

if I just decided not to show up or call in to work with my part of some huge project and they had to redo the whole thing because of that, I would expect not to find a job for some time.
