Two quick questions

Being relatively new to the whole world of Criminal Minds fandom, I think I've been completely addicted for about two months now, I caught a couple of episodes on UK TV and ended up buying the first two seasons on DVD and watching them in a couple of days, I really would love to start reading some fanfic. I read the one suggested in reply to a request for a particular fic below and I loved it so I was basically wondering if anyone had any recommendations. I'll read pretty much anything but my favourite characters are Reid and Hotch, not necessarily together but I'm not opposed to reading that either but any starting points would be great.

Secondly I was wondering if anyone knew if there was an active icontest community focusing on the show, as much fun as making random icons is I love a particular challenge every now and then...

Well since I am one of the mods there, I am going to recommend hotch_prentiss. Its a community completely dedicated to the pairing of Hotch and Emily. There are probably more communities on LJ dedicated to specific pairings. And there is bau_fic for all things Criminal Minds.

*G* Well, there is the morganreid_cm, where I am one of the mods, for all your Morgan and Reid and/or Morgan/Reid needs. There's also cm_hotch_reid, where I am not a mod, for, you guessed it, all of your Hotch and Reid and/or Hotch/Reid needs. There's also cm_slash, if you like the slashy side of things, and bau_inbox, which is a newsletter that rounds up fic, discussion, challenges, etc., all in one neat little package every few days or so.

I don't believe there is an icontest comm (actually, I think there was one, but it seemed to be defunct when I found it, if I'm thinking correctly [edit: yes, bau_icontest, which hasn't be active since December]), but there is picturethecrime, which is a great place to post/snag cm icons. :D
