Keeping Equilibrium pt 2

I

Needing.
Wanting.
This monster inside of me,
This seed that has been planted,
This blight on everything that I am,
Seems so much stronger than anything I’ve ever encountered.
I am not one to pray to god,
Science has always been my savior,
Numbers my deity,
But I pray now that he gives me strength
To be strong, to beat this beast.
I try to hide it-
But the way they look at me
Side ways glances of pity
they know what I’m going through
They’re no fools to my suffering
That’s why I can’t let them down.


II

Sleeplessness’ is now my diet
Cold night sweats my battleground.
But I will wring out every inch of this poison in my veins
I am so much stronger than this.
Nighttime meetings
Sipping stale coffee with far too much sugar
(Or so someone each week tells me)
Assure me that this moat I’ve built between me
And the monsters outside remains.
And slowly
But surely
I am released from my cage.
However, even though I am free
I know that I must always keep a careful balance
Always being aware to keep equilibrium

i really like your poems!
i think Reid is a good inspiration for poems hehe.
these have a nice flo and they make sense.
not too straightforward yet i don't need to de code them to understand.
