Oh wow, 4x10 sounds awesome! So Morgan was a cop before (did we already know this and I just forgot?). Looks like we'll be getting more back story on him :D! And the pictures for 4x11...JJ and Henry are back, yeah!!! I already miss JJ.

They actually mentioned it in 'Lo-Fi', but it was only a quick passing comment. He just said he used to be a cop in Chicago.

Morgan's starting to get way too much stuff in his background for it to fit too...:P Cop, ATF, at one point he talks about having done eighteen months deep cover....

Yeah, of course, but he's also ostensibly a pretty damn young character, though. I don't remember his age as determined in 'Profiler, Profiled', but as far as I recall, Morgan's closer to 30 than Shemar Moore's 38...

Going from the birthdate given in "Profiler, Profiled," Morgan would be 35 now, which is perfectly reasonable, imho. I'm just wondering why this case wouldn't also similarly affect Hotch - he was SWAT, which means ex-cop also, no?

Oh, okay, I wasn't sure what they'd done with it - I was just heading off to work so I didn't have time to check it out.

Anyway, Hotch's SWAT bit was mentioned once, and only in total passing. Personally I'm not even treating it as part of canon, simply because there is no room for it in Hotch's backstory - to me it seems more likely that he did what was suggested in 'Poison', going directly from being a prosecutor to the FBI. What exactly he's done in the Bureau, well... Let's just not get tangled up in that mess again.

Actually FBI field offices have SWAT teams too - John Douglas was SWAT while he was at the Detroit field office, I think. So my personal theory is that Hotch was SWAT while he was in Seattle. :D

But again there's the problem that this info appears in the pilot, in which Hotch also assumes that the people in the Seattle field office will remember him "after busting my butt in this office for three years".

Only... At this point he's been in the BAU for (at least) almost six years, according to Gideon in 'A Real Rain'. Possibly people stay in the same field offices for a long time , but assuming everyone there remembers his three years there after at least six years?

I'm not sure I'd trust most of the non-essential info from the pilot.

*G* Well, it depends on whether you go with his 'official' age in his file, or the age that would be correct based on the year he found the body, but he was either born in 1973 or 1976. I think it's just a given that writers are bad at math. :D I know I am.
